[It's not that he doesn't know she can. For all of her silliness, they'd matched As for as long as he could remember. Riley was smart even if she didn't necessarily show it, but she's also a ray of sunshine that needs to be protected. At least-- for as long as they could manage. And a part of him wasn't sure how long that would last here of all places.]

Yeah, you should try it. [He smiles a small smile that's often reserved for Riley, even if he's not so sure that'll solve anything. Not with how things were around here.] Maybe you can find a nice place away from-- Well, maybe you'll find a nice place. [Because he doesn't want to say the town Maya's very adamant about or anything, personal suspicions and all.]

I don't know, but if anyone can find one it's you. [ Because sometimes he believes in Riley and Maya more than himself. And he knows if there's a bright spot to find in something Riley will. ] And while you two do that I'll crack the case.

[He makes a face at that, because certainly a lot can go wrong. But he doubts Riley needs that reminder, nor does he want to say anything to crush the margin of hope.]

Let's focus on what can go right. Which is a lot, because it's us. And we always manage in the end.

[And those times may pass soon, is something Farkle's aware of. Because this is a situation that's foreign. He and Maya have already disagreed about things-- She wanted to protect him, he was adamant on equally doing the same for her. In proving that maybe things weren't all that sunny.]

Of course not. It's the secret of life. People change people, and it's those people that change the situations.

Yeah, looks like it.

[It's said with a tightening of his jaw and he doesn't quite look at her. He sees all the possibilities, good and bad, laid out before them and it seems like bad is more invasive here than anything but he can't. Go into that. Won't. So he tries to believe, but Riley's here now and she's better at that then any of them. So maybe going back to logic was better.]

We'll figure something out.
