[ Sometime when she goes into her room that day, Riley may find a hippo in this style. Maybe it's not as wellcrafted as a certain hippo he's given her before, but it's still delightfully cute. There's even a tiny ribbon wrapped around its neck and a paper in the form of a scroll, a similar ribbon binding it, on the hippo's lap.

I miss him too. :( not as much as you I'm sure. But he's a really great kid and you can tell he really cares about you and Maya.

but ive known him since i was little and its weird not having him around anymore

I know we should be happy he's home because he was miserable here but that doesn't mean we're not allowed to be sad he's gone either. which I'm sure you know, but just in case you needed a reminder.

it's ok to be sad. it's ok to miss him. It's a good thing, it means he was important to you.

but also he wouldnt want you to be sad for too long. its ok to be happy without him too, that's what he'd want.

I get what you mean about putting on a brave face too, and maybe that's something I can do. if you need a break from being happy you can come hang out with me, we don't even have to talk, but you can feel whatever you need to for a bit.
